Add USB-C video output to your portable with melonHD! Converts HDMI™ to USB-C DP Alt Mode, with pin-strappable VBUS PDO selection (5V, 9V, 12V, 15V)

To integrate melonHD into your project, you must solder it to an impedance-controlled 4-layer carrier PCB. An open source carrier board reference design is available in the GitHub repository.

NOTE: melonHD works best when it receives an HDMI™ signal after power-up. melonHD exposes an HPD pin to accommodate this; HPD goes high once a DP Alt Mode contract is established. See this forum post for a breakdown on how to power-gate an HDMI mod such as GCVideo DVI with HPD.

NOTE: The melonHD module does not expose DDC pins for EDID. As such, compatibility with desktop PCs and other HDMI™ sources which rely on EDID is not guaranteed. melonHD is intended for integration into portables using GCVideo, DCDigital, Retro GEM, and other HDMI™ mods which do not care about EDID.

melonHD is an advanced mod and is not recommended for beginners.
